An hour’s drive east of Udaipur is the little village of Khempur, set amid mustard and millet fields. At the edge of the village is the Ravla Khempur, now converted into a heritage hotel. A large neem tree shades the family temple next to the fort.

The young owner of Ravla Khempur, Hemant Deval Singh, is famous for the breeding and training of the beautiful Marwari horses. A stay in Ravla Khempur therefore offers the unique opportunity to explore the Indian countryside on horseback.
