India, with her hundreds of major and minor dynasties, has a mind-boggling number of forts and palaces.

The most impressive forts are the Amber Fort of Jaipur, Meherangarh Fort of Jodhpur, Taragarh Fort of Bundi, and the forts at Kota and Gwalior.

Palaces of all sizes dot India, but certainly worth visiting are the ones in Jaipur, Karauli, Dungarpur, Udaipur and down south in Mysore.
