Bhubaneswar
The Lingaraj Temple dominates the skyline for kilometres around. A massive wall surrounds this as well as other minor temples, all of which are decorated with a profusion of sculptures of deities, nymphs and stone inscriptions.A large number of temples in Bhubaneswar are also located around Bindu Sarovar, a tank which is believed to receive water from all the holy rivers of India. Mukteshwar, with its famous stone arch at the entrance, known as the gem of Orissan architecture, is full of sculptures on the outer walls depicting the famous folk tales of the Panchatantra.
Bhubaneswar also has two museums that house a host of artifacts and handicrafts.
