Nainital is an ideal place for walking, boating or horse riding. Naina (Cheena) Peak (2,610m) is a 5 km walk from the lake. From the top there are stunning views of the Himalaya.A ropeway climbs from the Mall to Snow View (2,270m), another good vantage point for viewing the snow-capped peaks. Otherwise it’s a two-kilometre hike along a choice of steep trails, which can also be undertaken on horseback.
For golfers, there is the 100-year old, Raj Bhawan Golf Course.
